My Backstory
Tituba, an enslaved Amerindian, was the first to be accused of influencing a group of girls to practice sorcery based on African folklore in Salem, Massachusetts, in 1692.
The people of Salem associated spiritual practices with Africans and Amerindians. They identified Tituba as both and were convinced that the town's true evil was emerging.
